Well , this is my consecutively third book review blog because I can't resist myself from reading books now a days . I am heading towards the last year of my undergraduate programme and I have to prepare myself for Post Graduate studies in future so I am just pulling my socks up by reading few accomplished non fictions mostly political and historical and yet one book which caught my attention was " Pax Indica " by Dr. Shashi Tharoor. I loved the concept of this book because I love international relations and I am a frequent reader of international policies , news and worldwide politics all that stuff and this book was eventually based on it , that's why I couldn't cease myself from reading this book.
Now , What this book is basically about ? What is the core concept of this book ? I'll clear all the doubts. This book is specifically written on the Indian Foreign Policy worldwide , it's relevance , it's impact on the global stage and most importantly Indian Foreign Policy witch each nation on this globe and with the group of nations as well. Dr. Shashi Tharoor was an international diplomat in United Nations , he served many years of his life working for United Nations in various missions and at many places. Whatever experience he gained being a United Nation diplomat and his view towards the foreign policies was impeccable and seeds of understanding the international relations and foreign policy developments was bore in his twenties when he was pursuing his doctorate degree from " Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy " and his first procurement by writing " Reasons of State" .
I was very much fascinated by his work and he explained his thoughts very vibrantly by making a healthy connection with his readers and I didn't found any point where I felt lethargic while going through this book. He divided this book into eleven chapters in which first eight chapters you will find on the foreign policy and diplomatic relations with various countries and rest of the chapters on the different aspect of foreign policies . My favorite part of this book was the concept of soft power which was very enthralling and I came to know about the whole new different perspective in International relations and soft power strategy . If you want to know about it , you have to go through this book for sure at once.
I don't think that I need to comment on the language of this book because the author of this book is known globally for his impeccable English vocabulary and as I mentioned in one of my early book review blog of the same author that you 'll come across many unheard words and one which I greatly remember was "Weltanschauung" which means a particular philosophy or view of life. It took me a week to read the whole book with great enthusiasm and I got to know very interesting facts about the international diplomacy . If you are interested in such topics then you definitely need to check this book out.

But there is one great drawback of this book i.e. this book was published in 2012 and now it's 2019 . There has been innumerable changes in international politics since then because of which at some point of times I felt like I am reading a historical non fiction . I wonder that this book was quite fresh at that time when it was published and couple of years after that but that doesn't mean it's not worth reading . It helped me in understanding the birth of diplomatic relations of India with other countries till 2012 and that helped me a lot in clearing various doubts and facts which were totally unknown for me. In fact you would be able to easily trace the post developments in international arena after understanding the all pre developments which is beautifully and factually mentioned in this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed each and every page of this book by heart and I can confidently say that this book is worth investing. It nourished my knowledge very well in international relations and diplomacy.
I would like to rate this book 10/10
