Dara Shukoh: A Forgotten Prince

During moments of downcast, my blog becomes my sanctuary, revitalizing my spirit and reconnecting me with my essence. Today, I extend a warm welcome to my readers. One profound realization that has recently dawned upon me is my unwavering commitment to preserving the authenticity of subjects, much like I cherish a quaint eatery serving delectable dishes or an overlooked time-worn monument. Just as I believe in savoring the unaltered essence of these experiences, I approach my blog with the same reverence, allowing its inherent charm to shine through, even in the company of a select few dedicated readers. The above image is of the Partition Museum and Dara Shukoh Library Building and the image below is of the unmarked grave of Dara Shukoh at Humayun's Tomb This time, I've delved even deeper into a captivating subject that I believe my readers will thoroughly enjoy – Dara Shukoh. Rather than delving into the academic intricacies of his life, such as the history of the Dara Shukoh...

Another Gem of Books in the City

Sometimes it is better that you do something for yourself and treat yourself. I used to do this long ago but this time I really felt like doing it and I did. As usual, after my classes got over, I was planning to head back home but then I felt like I should do something for myself which can make me feel good and the weather was extremely pleasant with cold winds and grey clouds. There is a bookshop in the city which was on my radar for a very long time and I asked a few people in the past to accompany me to that bookshop but the plan could never be materialized. So on this fateful day, I decided to accompany myself and explore like old days. The name of the bookshop is "The Bookshop" in Jor Bagh. They have an intriguing  Instagram page that drew my attention to this bookshop and they recommend exotic books with their descriptions on their insta stories.  Location It is situated in Jor Bagh and the nearest metro station is also the Jor Bagh metro station which falls on th...

Let the Trial Begin

Where was I? Greetings to my dear readers, After long three years finally I convinced myself to sit and write something up. Since three years have lapsed and there has been a lot of changes that have taken place in my life since then. When I was writing blogs previously, I was pursuing my under graduation from Kirori Mal College, University of Delhi about which I never miss a moment to brag about. So many things happened since then that I will surely write a separate blog about it. But for now, let me tell my dear readers that currently I am pursuing the second year of my LL.B from Law Centre II, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi and yes I am about to become a lawyer in a few months. Sounds interesting, isn't it? Anyway, let's start with the blog and yes it is gonna be an interesting blog because here I will be writing about two things among which one is a book which I recently finished reading and a movie that I recently watched on Netflix. Co-incidence Since I a...

Review : The Verdict by Prannay Roy

Going through the book section of Flipkart.com , I eventually found a very eye catching book in maroon and reddish colour with big white capital letters title " THE VERDICT" by Prannoy Roy and Dobara S. Sopariwala. And more than that the concept of book insisted my eyes to look through it, just behind the title of the book : "Decoding India's Election". I grew up watching NDTV and I always admired Prannoy Roy. I remember he often appears on channel especially when it's an election season. I had no second thought about this book, I orders it on the spot. I was curious about the topic of this book and the interpretation of an intellectual like Prannoy Roy. (Picture Credit : The one who is writing the blog)  The book was delivered to me in two days and I was excited. I unwrapped the book and started reading at the same time. The book had engrossing contents which amused me and had literally made me thought about decoding an India's electio...

Plato's 21st Century

Being a Political Science student sometimes challenges your thoughts about contemporary world especially when you thorough study the western political thoughts. One of the stalwarts among western political thinkers – Plato, an ancient Greek philosopher and regarded as the first western political thinker. A disciple of Socrates who laid the foundation of this whole philosophical mania. He embedded his ideas in one of his most novelistic work – Republic. There’re certain philosophies on which Plato talked about among which a concept of an “Ideal State” or “Just State” arose. He challenged those concepts ages ago but we are still in 21 st century struggling for the proper definition and execution for an ideal state. Although in many nation state powers are snatched forcefully with show of force or popular support, those are anarchic states. In context of democracy failure, he reasoned it that its due to people are not equipped with proper education to select the best ruler. For th...
